Sometimes Stars Cannot be Seen but They're Always There

The book Number the Stars by Lois Lowry has truly inspired me, and I'm sure it'll inspire you as well. This novel brings up the life of a ten-year-old girl, Anemarie Johansen that lived in Copenhagen, Denmark, during the World War II, in September 1943. Copenhagen used to be a very nice and peaceful place, but at that time it was filled with Nazis in every corner in the city. Anemarie and her family had been courageous due to their acts to help their fellow friend, Ellen Rosen. They risked their lives by trying their best to protect the Rosens and other Jews from the Nazis and helping them to escape to Sweden by pretending that Ellen was Anemarie's older sister. Anemarie used to have an older sister, Lise but she died in the war because of her desicion to join the Danish Resistence.

The first time I read the book was last year. I thought that this book will be the same like those uninteresting and boring novels. But I was totally wrong. The book really opened my eyes to see the world better. It taught me many valuable moral lessons of life. The book taught me to be brave and courageous person like Anemarie who conquered her fears. It also inspired me to appreciate life in every situation like Anemarie, she faced difficult situation but she was happy and grateful for her life. And most of all it taught me the deep meaning of a true friendship. We all know what Anemarie did for Ellen was truly spectacular. I just couldn't believe how a friend could possibly do that.

Like I said in the beginning the book had made difference in my life. I became a better person by appreciating and stop complaining for little problems I faced. I also cherish my friendship with devoted friends. I chose this title because I value a true meaning of friendship. Stars are like friends they're not close or we can't always see them but they're always there to help us and suppport us.

We also can see this story from a different perspective. Ellen symbolize us, people that have troubles in life. Anemarie symbolize guardian angels that want to help us and make us safer. The Nazis are the devil that make us suffer. And Ellen necklace the Star of David represents the Jews.

I would rate this book a 9 over 10 because they are really fascinating and I would like to recommend this book for anybody that have troubles in live and those that think they are never good enough, this book could really make you confident and stand up for yourselves.
I really wish that the book can make you a better person and change your life in a better way.
